Alpha Glynsera: The Ice Wolf of Beast Fang Ridge

Alpha Glynsera lurks below an ice cave south of the Water to Ice Sanctum in Beast Fang Ridge. Here is how to reach it and why Fire wins this fight.

Alpha Glynsera is the Ice Alpha of Beast Fang Ridge — a proud ice wolf that only respects strength. The approach is half the difficulty: the entrance sits below an ice cave that is literally blocked until you clear it.

Location

Head south of the Sanctum: Water to Ice in Beast Fang Ridge and find the ice cave below it. The entrance is blocked by flammable vines or solid ice — bring a Fire attack and burn the vines away, then drop into the cave floor below. Do not arrive with an all-Ice team and no way to open the path. The Beast Fang Ridge map guide has the regional layout.

Weaknesses and counters

Glynsera is Ice: it takes 1.6x from Fire and Earth and resists Water, Grass and Ice. Conveniently, the Fire you needed to open the cave is also the element that wins the fight. Earth is the secondary option.

The fight

  • Blade-in-mouth lunges — its ice blades show their edge once it wakes up. The opening combo is telegraphed but wide; dodge through it, not away from it.
  • Proud tempo — Glynsera answers only to true strength, and the fight reflects that: it escalates rather than stalling. Keep pressure on instead of playing passive.
  • Cold arena — the cave floor is its turf. Watch for the ice patches that punish careless repositioning.

Bring Fire DPS, a Break unit to strip the guard bar, and a Heal for the mid-fight escalation.

The team

  • Fire DPS — Scorchhowl-line or any Fire carry.
  • Earth DPS — backup into the 1.6x window.
  • Break — mandatory; the guard bar is thick.
  • Heal — a Water healer here is fine despite the resistance note — healing is healing.

The catch and the reward

First clear pays Freeze Stone x5, Glimmer x50, Safaris x500, Irisalis Petal x1, and Lumin Amber x1, with Freeze Stone as the repeat material. The post-fight capture window needs an Aniipod Ultra or Sparkling Cube (100%); each attempt costs 30 Primegy. See the Capture Mechanics guide.

Where it fits

Beast Fang Ridge stacks three Alphas in one region — Glynsera, Alpha Scorchhowl and Alpha Minespine — so plan one well-stocked trip rather than three underleveled ones. Minespine sits deeper underground and is gated behind Branch investment, so treat Glynsera as the region’s checkpoint boss first. The Boss Guides overview sequences the full list.
