Alpha Leafy: The Grass Alpha Hiding in the Mistwoods

Alpha Leafy guards a lily-pad pond in the Mistwoods and takes extra damage from Ice, Lightning and Wind. Here is the route in and the fight plan.

Alpha Leafy is the Grass Alpha of the Mistwoods — a deceptively serene boss sitting in a hidden pond. The region’s fog does half the work of hiding it; the other half is that the pond is easy to walk past.

Location

Go northeast of the Breezy Plains Branch in the Mistwoods and look for the grove with the lily-blanketed pond. Leafy waits in the water there. The mist cuts visibility hard, so follow the pond’s edge rather than trusting the camera. The Mistwoods map guide covers the regional layout.

Weaknesses and counters

Leafy is Grass — and this is one Alpha where the sources genuinely disagree, so read carefully. The launch type chart puts Fire, Wind and Dark at 1.6x into Grass, while the community boss listing for this specific Alpha shows Ice, Lightning and Wind. Leafy is a dual-element Grass/Water creature, which likely explains the split. The safe play: open the in-game Counters Info panel before you commit, and build coverage that answers both lists — Wind plus an Ice or Fire attacker covers every version of the row. The Type Chart guide breaks down the multipliers and flags the same discrepancy.

The fight

Leafy is described as elegant and dignified, but the fight is anything but polite:

  • Brash physical pressure — it closes distance and commits hard. Dodging into it is the classic error.
  • Pond terrain — fighting in its home water is a losing trade. If the arena lets you reposition, pull it onto solid ground.
  • Rock-solid bulk — the backstory says it was once just a rock that came alive alongside the Baleetle that tends it, and it hits like the geology never left.

Bring Ice or Lightning DPS, a Break unit, and a Heal. Standard Alpha rules apply: it is aggressive, hits hard, and punishes an underleveled team.

The team

  • Wind DPS — the one element both lists agree on; lead with it.
  • Ice or Fire DPS — answers whichever weakness row the in-game panel confirms.
  • Break — drain the guard bar so the DPS actually lands.
  • Heal — this fight runs long because of Leafy’s bulk.

The catch and the reward

First clear pays Sprout Stone x5, Glimmer x50, Safaris x500, Irisalis Petal x1, and Lumin Amber x1, with Sprout Stone on repeat runs. Secure the post-fight capture window with an Aniipod Ultra or Sparkling Cube (100%) — attempts cost 30 Primegy each, so do not gamble with standard pods. Rules in the Capture Mechanics guide.

Where it fits

Leafy also matters off the battlefield: it is a Regen/DPS Grass and Water creature in team terms, so a good-aptitude catch earns a roster spot after the fight. If you are also chasing the Mistwoods Omega, Omega Tuckin is the next step up from this clearing.
