Aniimo Early Team Build: A Balanced Starter Four

Build a balanced four-slot Aniimo team around your Holy starter, cover its weak matchups, and stop stacking DPS before the difficulty walls appear.

Your first team decides whether the early game feels smooth or like a brick wall. The good news: the starter is strong, and the game hands you plenty of early catches to fill the gaps. The bad news: most players fill those gaps wrong.

You have four active slots

Aniimo runs a four-creature active team. A party of four DPS sounds great until you hit an enemy with a thick guard and watch your damage bounce. The goal is coverage, not a damage maximum.

Cover the starter’s blind spots

Both starters — Helion and Lunara — are Light (Holy). Their attacks shred Wind and Dark, and they get resisted by Lightning and Light. So your first job is to cover those two bad matchups. A Water or Grass creature handles the Fire/Earth enemies that would otherwise stall you, and you want at least one non-DPS role from hour one.

Still deciding between the two starters? The Aniimo Best Starter breakdown is the short version; the longer one is in the Helion vs Lunara guide.

A sensible starting four

A team that carries you through the opening regions:

  1. Your starter (Helion/Lunara) — Light DPS. Your reliable damage and traversal.
  2. A Water Heal — Skippy or Pranky. Heals, and Water covers Fire, which your Light starter cannot.
  3. A Fire or Grass DPS — Emberpup/Scorchhowl (Fire) or a Grass pick. Fills the hole Light leaves against Grass and Ice.
  4. A Break unit — Celestis (Dark Break) or Budclaw (Grass/Rock Break). Without this, guard bars shut you down.

That is two elements of damage, a healer, and a breaker — four slots, no wasted pick.

The mistakes

  • Five DPS energy — you only have four slots, and none of them should be a fourth damage dealer when you lack a healer.
  • Spreading upgrades — raise three or four creatures properly. A tight, leveled core beats a wide roster of half-built ones.
  • Forgetting Regen/EP — if your skills run dry mid-fight, a Regen creature or Support keeps the engine turning.

Keep building

Once this four is leveled, branch into the Aniimo Type Chart for matchup depth and the Aniimo Tier List for long-term picks. And do not skip the Aniimo Daily Routine — steady resources are what let you actually level this team.
