Aniimo Movement Abilities: Flying, Climbing, Swimming and Tunneling

Aniimo traversal runs on Twine abilities from your explore tab. Here is how flying, climbing, swimming and tunneling unlock, and the stamina rules behind them.

In Aniimo you do not get better at climbing by leveling your character. You get better by catching the right creatures. Every Aniimo has out-of-combat abilities, and those decide how you move through the world — which makes your explore team a completely separate decision from your combat team.

The explore tab is a second roster

Aniimo placed in the explore tab handle traversal, and that job is separate from your fighters. A creature that is weak in battle can still be worth catching for what it lets you reach. Only certain Aniimo help with traversal — the abilities on offer cover gliding, flying, climbing, swimming and burrowing, and once one is in the explore tab it is summoned automatically when the terrain calls for it.

What triggers itself, and what you press

  • Climbing — approach a climbable wall while in a Climb-capable form and the climb starts automatically. But it only fires if you are already in the right form, so in vertical country, stay in a climber.
  • Swimming — entering water auto-twines you with a caught Aniimo that can swim. The catch is the word caught: no swimmer in your collection means no water routes.
  • Hustle (Emberpup) — the one you press. An active sprint that drains stamina, for when the obstacle is distance rather than terrain.
  • Puff Up (Nimbi) — jump higher plus one air dash.
  • Hookshot (Pawney) — stretch toward the center of view and pull yourself to walls or enemies.
  • Tunnel (Budclaw) — dig underground, immune to ranged attacks while stamina drains.

Ability grades

Pathfinding skills are graded Lv.1 to Lv.3, and the level travels with the creature:

  • Fly Lv.3 — Cornet, Fenmane, Erlath. Fly Lv.2 — Chirpi (listed in four regions, the most widespread option), Tromber, Turbo, Ignitis, Helgon. Fly Lv.1 — Celestis, Stellarys, Nimbi, Flutternym and more.
  • Climb Lv.3 — Blazen. Climb Lv.2 — Bolty. Climb Lv.1 — Celestis.
  • Swim Lv.3 — Piopiota. Swim Lv.2 — Pranky, Glacy, Erlath. Swim Lv.1 — Skippy, Susuta, Popota, Panpanta, Fahloo.

Grades are read from the official index without per-level effect details — treat a higher level as the better version of the same ability.

Stamina and momentum

Movement costs stamina, and the pool decides how long a climb or flight lasts. You raise it through nurture nodes and regional Branch upgrades bought with Lumin Amber — community documentation notes that 150 Lumin Ambers removes stamina consumption for walking, flying and jumping in a region. One free trick: jump immediately after starting a hustle for a longer leap and extra momentum.

Unlock order that works

  1. Catch a swimmer early (Susuta in Echoback Landing is the usual answer) — water does nothing for you without one.
  2. Fill the explore tab across movement types so auto-triggered abilities have something to trigger with.
  3. Invest Lumin Amber in the regions you cross most, and chase true flight later — community sources note real flight beyond gliding is a Lumin Amber unlock.

Regional routing is in the Map and Spawn Guide.
