Battlefield 6 Helicopter Guide: Peek, Switch, and Survive

Pilot Battlefield 6 attack and scout helicopters like a pro—ground-hugging peeks, rocket-versus-cannon switches, and the evasion habits that keep you alive.

Helicopters are the highest-skill, highest-reward vehicle in Battlefield 6. A good pilot racks up vehicle and infantry kills while the enemy AA screams in frustration. A bad pilot is a 30-second respawn timer. Let’s make you the first kind.

Pick your bird

You’ve got three roles: the UH-79 transport (taxi, no real teeth), scout helis like the Little Bird / MH-350 (fast, twitchy, great for lone-wolf gun runs), and attack helis like the Falchion / Panthera KHT (the heavy hitters with rockets and a cannon). This guide is mostly about the attack and scout frames.

Hug the dirt

The number-one rookie mistake is flying high. Altitude makes you a target for every MAA and Engineer with a lock. Instead, skim rooftops and terrain — pop up, take your shot, drop back behind cover. That “peek” rhythm is what separates survivors from fireworks. Treat buildings as your friend: they block line of sight to ground launchers.

Rockets vs. cannon

Attack helis carry both. The cannon is for infantry and soft targets — walk it across a capture point and watch the ticket bleed. Rockets and guided munitions are for armor and dug-in positions. Don’t dump your whole rocket load on one squad; you’ll be defenseless on the way out. Switch deliberately: cannon for cleanup, rockets for the hard kill.

Evasion is a habit

When you hear the lock tone, do something — not later, now. Flare, jink hard, drop altitude, or break toward a building. A predictable flight path is a dead flight path. Vary your approach angles every run so the enemy can’t pre-aim your lane. If you take a hit, don’t hover to assess; relocate first, repair second.

Crew coordination

A two-man heli beats a solo every time. Gunner spots and suppresses while you fly; you manage threats and positioning. Communicate. And respect the MAA — one good AA gunner ends your streak fast, so bait it with a teammate’s jet or push when it’s busy.

For the ground-game counters to your airframe, read the tank guide and the broader vehicles guide. Flying fixed-wing instead? The jet guide is your next stop.
