Battlefield 6 Iberian Offensive Map Guide: Gibraltar Lanes and Hold Points
Conquer Battlefield 6's Iberian Offensive in Gibraltar—mode fit, layered space, key objectives, vehicle routes, and attack-defense plans that work.
Iberian Offensive drops you on the Rock of Gibraltar — a launch map with a mix of coastal openness and tight old-town fighting. It rewards teams that can fight both in the open and in the streets.
Mode fit
Great for Conquest and Breakthrough. The spread of objectives means you’ll bounce between vehicle-friendly coastal stretches and infantry-heavy town blocks. Keep a flexible squad; you’ll want both armor and foot mobiles.
Three layers of space
- Air: the coastal exposure gives helis and jets room to operate, especially along the water. Expect air duels and ground AA to matter.
- Ground: a blend of open rock faces and compact streets. Use the open ground for vehicle pushes, the streets for infantry holds.
- Interior: the older quarters are close-quarters — clear corners, don’t overextend into undefended doorways.
Key objectives
Objectives split between the exposed coastal side and the sheltered town. The coastal flags are easier to rotate but vulnerable to armor and air; the town flags are defensible but easy to get trapped in. Balance your holds — don’t stack everyone on the beach.
Vehicle lanes
Armor should run the coastal and open routes where it can see threats early. IFVs excel at dropping squads into the town edge. Watch the sky: Gibraltar’s openness means jets will be hunting your armor, so bring an MAA or Engineer screen. The vehicles guide covers the family roles.
Attacking
Use the open side to flank the town rather than steamrolling it head-on. Smoke and a mounted LMG on a rock ledge can suppress a stubborn defender. Move as a squad — lone attackers get picked by Recons on the high ground.
Defending
The town is your friend: funnel attackers through narrow approaches and pre-aim them. On the coast, use terrain to break line of sight from armor. A Recon with a Motion Sensor near the landing routes buys early warning.
For more launch maps, see Siege of Cairo and the infantry-only Saints Quarter, also set in Gibraltar’s old town.
Class and loadout notes
As of Season 5, the safe default is Assault or Support for objective work, Engineer whenever armor is in play, and Recon where the sightlines favor marksmen. On vehicle maps force an Engineer into every squad; on infantry-only maps drop the repair habit and lean on Support revives. Build your gun with the attachment guide and confirm your role in the classes guide.
