Battlefield 6 Siege of Cairo Map Guide: Lanes, Verticality, and Vehicle Control

Break down Battlefield 6's Siege of Cairo—mode fit, three-layer space, key objectives, vehicle lanes, and attack-defense angles that hold up in Season 5.

Siege of Cairo is the poster child of Battlefield 6’s launch maps — dense city fighting with just enough room for armor to matter. If you only learn one urban map, learn this one.

Mode fit

Cairo works in every large mode but shines in Conquest and Breakthrough, where the tight flag clusters create brutal close-quarters fights. Expect infantry to dominate the narrow streets while armor skims the wider avenues. See Conquest & Breakthrough tips for the flow mindset.

Three layers of space

  • Air: limited. Rooftops give Recons sightlines, but the canyon-like streets make flying risky. Attack helis that hug the skyline can punish exposed flags.
  • Ground: the meat of the map. Streets, plazas, and broken storefronts funnel fights into chokepoints you can pre-aim.
  • Underground / interior: markets and building interiors are deadly CQB. Clear rooms methodically; don’t rush a doorway your squad hasn’t covered.

Key objectives

The central objectives sit in the densest part of the city, so they’re the ones that bleed tickets fastest. Holding the middle lets you pressure both flanks. The outer flags are easier to grab but expose you to flank caps — don’t over-commit to the center and lose the edges.

Vehicle lanes

Tanks and IFVs belong on the broader avenues, not the alleys. Use them to suppress building windows, not to hunt infantry in rubble. An Engineer screen is mandatory; a lonely tank in Cairo is a mine waiting to happen. Read the tank guide before you roll in.

Attacking

Push through interiors to avoid street-level crossfire, and use rooftops to drop behind defenders. Smoke from Support is gold for crossing open plazas. Coordinate a squad rather than trickling in — see the squad guide.

Defending

Hold the high ground and the building entry points. Pre-aim doorways, use Deployable Cover at flag approaches, and let attackers come to your gun. A defended central flag with a recon spotting overwatch is nearly impossible to crack.

Class and loadout notes

As of Season 5, the safe default is Assault or Support for objective work, Engineer whenever armor is in play, and Recon where the sightlines favor marksmen. On vehicle maps force an Engineer into every squad; on infantry-only maps drop the repair habit and lean on Support revives. Build your gun with the attachment guide and confirm your role in the classes guide.
