Battlefield 6 SCW-10: The SMG That Wins Every Building Fight
The SCW-10 is one of Battlefield 6's best SMGs — fast killing up close, easy to unlock early. Range limits, attachment build, recoil and who should use it.
The SCW-10 is one of those guns that makes you wonder why you bothered with anything else on an infantry map. It’s an SMG that kills fast at the ranges most objectives are fought at, it’s available early so you don’t have to grind for it, and it’s been near the top of the meta since launch.
Where it fits
- Best range: close. Rooms, corridors, stairwells, the fifteen metres around a flag.
- Usable mid: briefly, if you control it. Past that, it falls off hard.
- Best maps: the tight ones — Hagental Base, Cairo Bazaar, Saints Quarter, Empire State.
Why SMGs run this game
Most BF6 maps funnel fights into buildings, and assault rifles carry heavy bloom when you hold the trigger. SMGs and carbines don’t. So even at medium range a well-built SMG often out-damages a rifle in practice, and up close there’s no contest at all.
Recoil and handling
SMG recoil is fast rather than wild — the gun climbs quickly if you hold it, so:
- Keep bursts short. Dump only when the target is genuinely close.
- Hip-fire is viable in a doorway; don’t waste a half-second aiming when someone’s already in your face.
- Pre-aim corners. With a gun this fast, whoever is already on target wins before the other player’s brain catches up.
Attachment direction
- Hip-fire and mobility parts first: laser or compact grip, whatever pushes close-range handling.
- Suppressor if you’re flanking — staying off the minimap is strong as of Season 5, especially on Domination where everyone’s watching the map.
- Extended magazine — you’ll be taking multiple targets in one room, and reloading mid-clear kills people.
- Small optic or iron sights. You don’t need magnification for the distances this gun works at.
Don’t bother with long barrels. You’re not stretching this gun’s range; you’d be better off with the M433.
Who should run it
- Engineer players. SMGs are the class weapon and this is one of the best — see the Engineer guide.
- Anyone levelling a gun. It’s usable almost immediately, which makes it a great first grind; pair it with the attachment unlock guide.
- Domination and King of the Hill regulars. Nothing else in the game fits those modes better.
Who shouldn’t
Big-map players. On Railway to Golmud or open desert you’ll be out of range in every fight — take the SG 553R or DRS-IAR instead. Full ranking in the weapon tier list.
