Exiled Survivors: Cold Death Region Guide

Cold Death is the second region in Exiled Survivors. The frost theme, the slows that start mattering, and the build adjustments it forces.

Cold Death is where Exiled Survivors stops letting you stand still. It is the second region in the chain — right after the Wilds and before the Swamp — and the name is the whole briefing: frost, and lots of it.

Where it sits

The region chain runs Wilds → Cold Death → Swamp → Dunes → Manor → Mountain → Volcano → Elemental Plane → Nine Circles of Hell. Cold Death is region two: harder than the Wilds, still gentler than the Swamp. It is the difficulty ramp, not the wall.

What changes from the Wilds

Slows start mattering. In the Wilds, a slow is an inconvenience. Here, a slowed player cannot walk out of the next attack — that is the entire difficulty jump. The Frost Mage is the specific offender: a ranged frost caster that slows and zones, which punishes any build that needs to stand still to deal damage.

Density climbs. Packs arrive thicker, and the first frost-aligned elites — the Dragonborn and its frost-themed forces — hit harder than anything in the opening region. Kill casters first, same as the Troll Shaman lesson.

Positioning discipline. The Wilds let you stand in one place longer than anywhere else in the game. Cold Death takes that away for good.

The exact per-zone boss roster is not fully documented — check in-game; the names above come from the game’s confirmed data.

Do not chase a level number — chase completion. By the time Cold Death feels easy, you want:

  • Your core skill line at or near full levels, per the best skills tier list.
  • One committed element with Focus tiers started, per the damage types guide.
  • The defensive picks you skipped in the Wilds — this is where they start paying off.

Build adjustments

  1. Add a movement answer. Movement Focus or any slow-resistance source you can find. Frost regions are where low-movement builds go to die.
  2. Cover the slows. If your damage requires standing still, Cold Death will keep proving it. Automatic skills keep firing while you walk (see the skill system guide).
  3. Do not spread. Two minutes in, pick your element and stop widening the kit. Depth beats width from here to the end of the game.

If you keep dying here

  • Dying to slows → movement investment too low. Take the Focus tier you skipped.
  • Dying to casters → you are ignoring the priority target. Kill the Frost Mage types first, forever.
  • Dying to packs → coverage too thin; one more clean run with more AoE fixes it.

Once Cold Death is consistent, the Swamp is next, and the stage progression guide covers the gates and what to farm.
