Exiled Survivors: Volcano Region Guide
The Volcano is the seventh region in Exiled Survivors. Burn zones, the lava bosses, and why this region is the Balrug fight one tier early.
The Volcano is the Balrug fight, one difficulty tier early. Region seven of the chain — after the Mountain and before the Elemental Plane — this is the fire region, and it teaches the lesson the fire demon lord will test at the end of the game.
Where it sits
Wilds → Cold Death → Swamp → Dunes → Manor → Mountain → Volcano → Elemental Plane → Nine Circles of Hell. Deep in the back half; by now your build should be mostly complete and this region is about execution.
What lives there
- Lava Serpent — the mobile fire threat. Burn zones on the move, which means the floor is never safe for long.
- Lava Golem — the heavy fire wall. Slow, high-health, and the single-target check of the region.
Fire themes dominate: sustained burn zones that force constant repositioning. The killer is damage over time — a build that ignores its health bar dies to the floor, not the boss.
Recommended level and gear thinking
The Volcano does not demand new build directions; it demands finished ones:
- Core skill lines at full levels — the best skills tier list is the reference.
- Fire Focus investment if you race with the same element, per the damage types guide.
- Relics matching your element; exact drop rates are not fully documented — check in-game.
Build adjustments
- Damage that works while moving. Burn zones deny you stand-still casts. Automatic skills keep firing while you walk (see the skill system guide).
- Sustain over a fifth damage source. Burn chip damage over a long fight is the real health bar here. Healing relics outperform greed.
- Keep lanes open. Lava zones plus adds equals no safe floor. Clear enough to always have a retreat path.
The regional lesson
Everything the Volcano teaches is directly transferable to Balrug the Fiery in the Nine Circles. If you can clear the Volcano without touching a burn zone for more than a second, you understand the fire lord’s fight before you meet him.
If you keep dying here
- Dying to burn → you are standing in zones. Read the floor first, boss second.
- Dying late → sustain too low. Trade a damage relic for a defensive one.
- Dying to the Golem → single-target damage too low; finish your main line.
The Elemental Plane is next and it is the final tuning ground before the lords; the stage progression guide covers the gates.
