Jayber Build Guide – Turrets, Drones, and the Easiest Main in the Game

A beginner-friendly Jayber build for The First Descendant: deploy assault and healing turrets, trigger Overhaul, and let the robots do the work.

Jayber is the most laid-back Descendant in The First Descendant, and that makes him the perfect first main for new players. You summon turrets, buff them, and watch the battlefield handle itself while you reposition. Low skill floor, surprisingly solid output.

His Robot Army

  • Assault Turret auto-attacks enemies.
  • Medical Turret heals allies and distracts foes.
  • Multi-Purpose Gun flips your turrets into an enhanced state when you shoot them.
  • Reactivate recalls every turret and detonates them for a big hit, then drops you into Overhaul, where new turrets spawn already enhanced.
  • Passive Turret Sync boosts your ATK whenever both turret types are out. Keep both live.

Transcendent Modules

Attacking Compulsion and Medical Compulsion let your normal skills summon those turrets directly, which smooths the whole rotation. Immediate Purge Code turns Reactivate into a nuke, and Turret Engineering heals and extends your turrets. Grab whichever fits your style – none of them are hard to use.

Modules and Gear

Jayber wants Non-Attribute and Dimension scaling, so lean on Non-Attribute Master, Range HP Calculator (range plus HP), HP Concentration, Dual Claw for capacity, Nimble Fingers, and Increase Shield. External components should favor Max Shield, Max HP, HP Recovery, and DEF so you and your bots survive.

Reactor and Weapons

A Non-Attribute / Dimension reactor is the pick. For guns, Enduring Legacy melts while you manage turrets, Blue Beetle spikes crit on Fusion skills, and Secret Garden refunds resources when you use Dimension skills like your turrets.

Why He Is Low Difficulty

You are never the one in the line of fire. Deploy, enhance, recall, repeat. He clears story and early hard content comfortably and still contributes in groups. Once you outgrow him, our tfd-tier-list points you to harder hits, and tfd-modding-guide explains catalysts when you want to optimize. Coming back after a break? tfd-returning-player-guide covers the systems he touches.
