Kyle Build Guide — Magnetic Tank and Co-op Anchor in The First Descendant

Kyle is the magnetic tank and co-op anchor of The First Descendant — here is his Magnetic Force build, reactor, modules, and how to unlock him.

Kyle is the bruiser tank. He doesn’t have Ajax’s raw HP pool, but he trades on Magnetic Force — a shield-like gauge that soaks damage and then detonates for AoE. He’s the most beginner-friendly of the “frontline” Descendants and a great co-op anchor.

What Kyle actually does

His kit is Non-Attribute with Tech and Dimension skills. Repulsion Dash (Tech) damages and knocks back. Magnetic Bulwark (Dimension) drops a barrier that drains your Max Shield while held. Magnetism Spurt (Dimension) converts incoming damage into stored Magnetic Force, then detonates it for AoE. Superconductivity Thrusters (Tech) is a long-cooldown ram that deals massive Magnetic-Force-scaled damage. The Experienced Technician passive generates Magnetic Force whenever you use skills — so the loop is: spend skills, bank force, detonate.

Best weapon pairing

ATR-0 Prototype is the Non-Attribute skill-power stat stick, and Secret Garden’s Pest Control buffs his Tech skills. Enduring Legacy, Thunder Cage, Deus Ex Manus, and Afterglow Sword all work depending on content. As always, match the reactor optimization condition.

Reactor + skill match

Materialized Mechanics (Non-Attribute + Tech) or Materialized Phase (Non-Attribute + Dimension) both fit; pick per which skills you lean on. Chase Skill Cooldown, Tech Skill Power, and Non-Attribute Skill Power.

Core modules

Increased Shield (max this first — it feeds Magnetic Force), Shock Punch (sub-attack), Focus on Tech, MP Conversion, Nimble Fingers, Non-Attribute Specialist or Syncytium, Self-Directed Eruption (Transcendent — pulls enemies in for AoE), Skill Simplification, Increased DEF, HP Amplification, and Skill Expansion for range. Dual Claw helps capacity.

External components

The Enlightened Mage / Distorted Resolve sets lean into shield recovery, which is exactly what Kyle wants. Otherwise stack Max Shield, Max HP, HP Recovery, and DEF.

Transcendent Module

Self-Directed Eruption (pull + detonate) is the offensive pick; Collision Instinct, Diamagnetic Bulwark, and Superconductive Bombing are the other options.

How to get Kyle

Research him through Anais (in Season 4 his parts come from Archive Shards) or buy from the store. See the unlock guide.

Beginner friendliness: Medium, very manageable

He’s tanky and forgiving, but you do have to watch the Magnetic Force gauge. Read the beginner guide and the modding guide before investing, and he’ll hold the line in any group.
