Lost Ark Accessories & Ability Stone Guide — T4 Stat Priorities
Lost Ark Tier 4 accessories and ability stones explained: stat priorities, faceting breakpoints, refining, and how to match both to your Ark Passive build.
Accessories and your ability stone are where a build stops being a skill preset and starts being a character. In Tier 4 both changed meaning: accessories no longer feed engraving nodes, and the stone directly levels your engravings. Still shopping like it’s 2024? You’re doing it wrong.
How T4 accessories work
Tier 4 accessories (necklace, earrings, rings) drop from Kurzan Front (Abidos Operations), Echidna, the Argeos Guardian Raid, and Aegir at 1660+. The big change: no engraving nodes. Instead they give:
- Combat stats — Crit, Specialization, Swiftness, Domination, and the rest.
- Ark Passive Enlightenment points — and this is the trap: replacing an accessory for a slightly better stat roll can silently drop you below an Enlightenment breakpoint. Always check your total point count after a swap.
T4 accessories can also be refined: the system rolls up to three rows of extra stats per accessory, using luminous gem shards (from dismantling T4 accessories) and gold. Rule of thumb: right stats and Enlightenment points first, refine later — a perfect refinement on the wrong stat spread is gold in the bin.
Stat priorities
What you want depends on your class and route — Specialization leads for Machinist and demon-form Shadowhunter, Swiftness leads for Hunger Reaper and Wind Fury Aeromancer, Crit is nearly universal as a secondary. Necklaces carry your primary and secondary stat; earrings and rings fill gaps. Never sacrifice an Enlightenment breakpoint for a stat upgrade.
How the ability stone works
The stone is cut at the Stone Cutter in any major city: attempts based on rarity, and you route nodes into two positive engraving lines while starving the negative one. Key facts:
- Node totals map to engraving levels: 6 = Level 1, 7–8 = Level 2, 9 = Level 3, 10 = Level 4. A 9-node stone beats an 8-node by a full breakpoint — compare final levels, not raw counts.
- If the combined engraving effect levels exceed 5, you get roughly +1.5% base Attack Power — that’s what makes god-roll stones expensive.
- Never let the negative line reach Level 1 (5 nodes) — one negative level can outweigh a positive gain.
- Relic stones upgrade to Ancient, and at 1640+ you convert to the Tier 4 stone (Great Stone of Soaring) so it works with Ark Passive. Skipping tiers costs the cumulative gold anyway.
- Bad stone? Dismantle it for powder and re-roll. Good stones you can’t use sell well on the Auction House.
Matching stone to build
Pick the stone after your build, not before:
- Decide your two class-route engravings from your Ark Passive keystone.
- Choose a stone whose positive lines are engravings your build actually runs.
- Check the negative line against your class — move-speed penalties sting positional classes; attack speed can break timings.
- Weigh breakpoints over totals: a 9/6 stone at Level 3 often beats a messy 10/4 spread.
Supports should weight the negative line even harder — on a healer, survivability and buff uptime beat one more node. And for a developing character, a functional stone plus correct-stat accessories beats chasing a perfect stone; Engraving Recipes and Ark Passive points (engravings, gear honing T4) do more per gold early on.
