Arcanist is the card-slinging mage and one of the highest-demand DPS in T4. She stacks Doom cards on enemies and detonates them with Ruin skills for big hits, all while drawing powerful buff cards. Two routes: Empress’s Grace (consistent) and Order of the Emperor (card-focused burst).

Role in the party

You are a ranged DPS with the party Brand / synergy (Scratch Dealer / Return) and excellent burst. Arcanist rewards reading your deck and adapting on the fly.

T4 build paths

  • Empress’s Grace: Ruin (red) skills hit much harder on enemies with 4 Doom cards and refund mana. This is the more consistent, forgiving route — a great default.
  • Order of the Emperor: adds Emperor cards and leans on normal-skill damage plus card draw. Higher skill, higher ceiling.

Your chosen engraving is the Enlightenment keystone.

Ark Passive direction

  • Evolution: Crit / Specialization for Empress; Crit / Swiftness for Emperor (the card-spam route wants Swift).
  • Enlightenment: your class keystone plus the nodes that boost Ruin skills and card generation.
  • Leap: Hyper Awakening that strengthens your Ruin detonations.

Gems

Damage gems: Celestial Rain, Secret Garden, Four of a Kind, Serendipity. Cooldown gems: Spiral Edge, Lightstream, Scratch Dealer, Call of Destiny, Celestial Rain, Four of a Kind, Secret Garden. Keep your stacking skills short on cooldown so you can detonate at 4 stacks.

Core loop

Build 4 Doom stacks with your blue stacking skills (Spiral Edge, Scratch Dealer, Call of Destiny, Lightstream), then detonate with Ruin skills (Celestial Rain, Secret Garden, Four of a Kind, Serendipity) under your self-buffs. Use Judgment-style cards to treat skills as 4-stack. Manage the deck; adapt to what you draw.

Gear & ability stone

DPS set; Crit / Spec (or Crit / Swift for Emperor) accessories; ability stone for the keystone and combat engravings (Grudge, Cursed Doll, Adrenaline, Raid Captain, Magick Stream).

New player friendliness

Low-to-medium. Empress’s Grace is approachable; Emperor is for players who enjoy the card game. High reward for the effort.
