Berserker is the greatsword bruiser — big, readable hits and a playstyle that ranges from “hold button, delete boss” to a tight 24-second cycle. In T4 he is a reliable, high-demand melee DPS.

Role in the party

You are a frontline melee DPS with strong personal damage and a simple, forgiving kit. Berserker’s main downside is burst uptime against very mobile bosses, so positioning matters.

T4 build paths

  • Berserker’s Technique (Berserker’s Secret): build the runaway gauge with normal skills, then activate Burst for a huge damage window where main skills reset cooldown. Specialization-heavy.
  • Mayhem: the gauge stays at max, you live in permanent Burst Mode (big damage reduction, move speed) at the cost of self-healing and shields. Swiftness build, constant damage.

Both are Enlightenment keystones.

Ark Passive direction

  • Evolution: Berserker’s Technique leans Specialization (with some Crit); Mayhem leans Crit / Swiftness.
  • Enlightenment: your class keystone plus nodes that boost your Burst skills and identity gauge.
  • Leap: Hyper Awakening that extends or strengthens your burst.

Gems

Damage gems: Bloody Rush, Overdrive, Power Break, Finish Strike, Hell Blade. Cooldown gems: Bloody Rush, Overdrive, Power Break, Finish Strike, Red Dust, Tempest Slash. Keep your core cycle ready.

Core loop

Berserker’s Technique: build gauge, pop Burst, reset and unload your mains (Red Dust -> Bloody Rush -> Overdrive -> Finish Strike -> Hell Blade), then rebuild. Mayhem: stay in Burst, run the 24-second cycle (Red Dust -> upbreaking skill -> Overdrive -> Finish Strike -> Hell Blade -> Sword Storm -> Power Break), manage HP under 50% for the tenacity effect.

Gear & ability stone

DPS set; Spec (Technique) or Crit / Swift (Mayhem) accessories; ability stone for the keystone and combat engravings (Grudge, Keen Blunt, Raid Captain, Cursed Doll, Mass Increase).

New player friendliness

High for Technique, medium for Mayhem (HP management). A classic, approachable DPS main.
