THE FINALS Cashout: The Core 3v3 Loop, Explained

Cashout is THE FINALS' signature mode — open a vault, carry the cash, and deposit it under fire. Here is the full loop, the rivalry between teams, and the habits that win cashouts.

Everything in THE FINALS is built around Cashout, the 3v3 mode that is the game’s spine. If you only learn one mode, learn this one. Here is the loop and how to win it.

The loop in three steps

  1. Open the vault. A vault spawns on the map; you (or a rival team) break it open. While it is open it holds cash.
  2. Carry it to a cashout station. The cash does not count until you deliver it. You physically carry it — meaning you are a target the whole way.
  3. Deposit and defend. Stand on the cashout station with the cash to bank it. The station then becomes a contested point: rival teams can steal the lead by out-depositing you, and you must hold them off until the timer completes.

That triangle — open, carry, deposit — is the entire match. The map usually cycles multiple vaults and stations, so positioning and timing decide who banks the most.

It is a three-way fight

Most matches are three teams of three, not two. That changes everything: the team that feeds the third team kills by over-committing loses. You are constantly deciding whether to finish a vault, contest a rival’s deposit, or third-party the two teams already fighting. The best teams punish others’ fights rather than starting their own.

Habits that win cashouts

  • One carrier, one guard, one roamer. Don’t all three swarm the vault — someone needs to cover the carry path and someone needs to watch the flank.
  • Use the arena, not just your gun. THE FINALS is famous for destructible maps; blow a wall to create a new carry lane or cut off a contesting team (see our destruction guide).
  • Respawn timing matters. When you die, you come back — but the cash does not wait. Know when to push a deposit versus when to regroup.
  • Don’t greed the vault. A vault you cannot safely carry is a trap. Sometimes grabbing the rival’s half-banked cash is the higher-value play.

Why it scales with you

At low rank, Cashout is “whoever shoots better wins.” At high rank, it is “who positions, rotates, and third-parties best.” The mode rewards game sense more than aim, which is why it stays fun for hundreds of hours.

Start here: if you are new, queue Cashout (not Solo Showdown) and just learn the open→carry→deposit rhythm. Everything else in THE FINALS builds on it.
