THE FINALS Classes After the Season 12 Health Rebalance

Light, Medium, and Heavy — and now the Light Infiltrator playstyle — explained after the Season 12 health shift (Light 175, Heavy 325). Pick the class that fits how you want to play, not just what is 'meta'.

THE FINALS has three body classes — Light, Medium, Heavy — and in Season 12 “Prime Time” (October 20, 2026) Embark permanently compressed their health gap. That rebalance changed how you should pick. Here is the honest breakdown.

The new health numbers

  • Light: 150 → 175 (gained 25, slightly slower now)
  • Medium: stays the reference point (~200)
  • Heavy: 350 → 325 (lost 25, slightly faster now)

The gap between Light and Heavy shrank from 200 points to 150. Embark’s data showed this pulled archetype win rates closer together, which is why they made it permanent despite mixed survey reception (52.6% approval overall). Translation: Lights are a bit harder to delete, Heavies a bit less of a bullet sponge, and weapon balancing has more room.

Light — speed, flank, and now stealth

Light is the fastest, lowest-health class built around aggression and repositioning. In Season 12 it gained a fourth playstyle, the Infiltrator (see our Infiltrator guide): True Sight, Mimic Device, and Translocator turn Light into a stealth/deception toolkit. Light is for players who want to out-angle opponents, not out-gun them.

Medium — the backbone

Medium is the balanced, do-a-bit-of-everything class: healing, decent guns, versatile gadgets. It is the reference point for a reason — most team comps want at least one Medium for sustain. Best first pick if you are unsure; it teaches the game’s tempo without punishing you for mistakes as hard as Light does.

Heavy — the anchor

Heavy is the tank: highest health, biggest guns, area control via mesh shields, goo, and explosives. You hold points, break pushes, and trade kills for space. The −25 health stings less than it sounds because Heavy still massively out-bulks everything else.

How to choose

  • Want to learn the game safely? Medium.
  • Want aggressive flanks and highlights? Light (now a bit more forgiving).
  • Want to anchor a point and win grinds? Heavy.
  • Want the new stealth toys? Light Infiltrator.

Do not chase the “best class” — with the compressed health pool, all three are viable, and Embark tunes weapons around both extremes. Pick the fantasy you’ll actually enjoy grinding.
