THE FINALS Solo Showdown: How the 12-Player Season 12 Mode Works
Solo Showdown is THE FINALS' first no-teams mode, added in Season 12 Prime Time. Here is the three-round elimination format, how the shared-build rounds work, and what Boom Brawl actually is.
THE FINALS is built on 3v3 Cashout, a mode where teamwork is everything. Solo Showdown, launched in Season 12 “Prime Time” (October 20, 2026), throws that out: 12 players, no squad, every contestant for themselves. If you queue solo and hate depending on randoms, this is your mode. It is currently in Beta.
The format: three rounds, bottom four out
- 12 players enter a match.
- The match runs across three rounds of fast-paced, randomized mini-modes.
- At the end of each round, the bottom four players on the scoreboard are eliminated.
- Survive all three rounds and you are among the final few standing.
Because there are no teams, every kill, every point, every placement is purely yours. The scoreboard is the only thing that matters — camp too safely and you finish bottom four; overextend and you feed everyone else points.
Each round forces a shared build
This is the clever part. Each round is built around one particular build and archetype, and the whole lobby is given that loadout. So you are not playing your main — you are playing whatever the round hands you, which doubles as a tour of loadouts you might otherwise never touch.
A concrete example: Boom Brawl puts everyone on a sword-wielding Light, and eliminated players drop throwable bombs on death. It is chaos by design, and it forces Lights to fight Lights with melee.
Why it exists
Embark added Solo Showdown for solo-queue players who want competition without the roulette of random teammates, and as a low-stakes way to try builds. Since it is Beta, expect tuning — round counts, elimination thresholds, and the rotation of mini-modes will shift based on feedback.
How to approach it
- Learn the round’s build fast. You get one loadout per round; spend the first 20 seconds learning its limits rather than dying confused.
- Play the scoreboard, not just kills. Bottom-four elimination means survival and objective points matter as much as frags.
- Use the chaos. With 12 independent players, the map is noisy — flank, reposition, and punish people locked in 1v1s.
Bottom line: Solo Showdown is THE FINALS’ answer to “let me just queue alone,” and the shared-build rounds make it feel fresh every match. Treat it as a warm-up for your Cashout instincts, not a replacement.
