THE FINALS Infiltrator: True Sight, Mimic Device, and Translocator Explained
The Infiltrator is Light's new Season 12 stealth playstyle. Here is exactly how True Sight, the Mimic Device, and the Translocator work, and why they form a built-in counter-play loop.
The Infiltrator is the headline addition of Season 12 “Prime Time” (October 20, 2026) — a fourth playstyle for the Light class built around deception, detection, and manipulating objects. It is not a new class; it is a new way to play Light. Its three tools are genuinely unusual, so here is what each actually does.
True Sight (Specialization)
A reworked version of Thermal Vision. While active it:
- Highlights enemies and deployables in their team’s color.
- Lets you see through smoke and non-solid obstructions — but not through solid walls. It is explicitly not a full wallhack.
- Reveals cloaked or disguised opponents (including other Infiltrators running Mimic).
- Drains an energy meter while active, so you cannot leave it on forever.
True Sight is the detection half of the kit — it exists specifically to counter stealth, including your own.
Mimic Device (Gadget)
Scans an arena prop and lets you disguise yourself as that prop, taking on its properties. Key detail: some disguises keep the prop’s function — a healing barrel, for example, can still trigger when you take damage. Opponents can throw or destroy you like any other prop. This turns the arena itself into camouflage: that suspicious crate next to the Cashout might genuinely be a contestant.
Translocator (Gadget)
Marks an object and instantly swaps your position with it while within range — and crucially, keeps the object’s momentum in the swap. That means you can escape, reposition, or even relocate enemy deployables like turrets. It is far more than personal mobility; it is a positional weapon.
The counter-play loop
The genius of the kit is that detection and deception ship together. Because True Sight reveals disguised and cloaked players, the same tools that let you hide as a prop also give your enemies the means to catch you doing it. A smart lobby becomes a layered guessing game of who is real, who is a Mimic, and who is quietly watching through a thermal sweep. That self-balancing design is why Embark shipped a pure-stealth playstyle without a free advantage attached.
How to play it: use Mimic to get close, Translocator to escape or flip a fight, and True Sight to deny enemy Infiltrators the same trick. It rewards cleverness over raw aim — perfect for players who’d rather out-think the lobby.
