THE FINALS Las Vegas Sandstorm Variant Guide (Season 12)
The Sandstorm variant of Las Vegas Stadium is back in Season 12, and the original Vegas layout has left the rotation for now. The weather, the reworked casinos and the new destruction system all change how fights go down. Here’s the rundown.
What Sandstorm actually changes
The sandstorm isn’t just a filter on the screen. It rewrites the map’s engagement rules:
- Long sightlines die. Open stretches across the Center and the streets between casinos become no-man’s-land. Marksman rifles largely disappear — SMGs, shotguns and mid-range ARs own the sand.
- Sound matters more than vision. With visibility down, footsteps and ability audio are your real information. Season 12 rebuilt the footstep system entirely, so on Sandstorm a good headset is close to a wallhack. See the settings guide.
- Rotations get riskier. Crossing open ground blind is a gamble. Push with utility — smoke, Goo, Dome Shield — or take the long interior route and accept being late.
The Season 12 casino reworks
Las Vegas Stadium got meaningful layout work this season, and it matters on both variants:
- Center: The old central platform was replaced with a larger circular display, giving better cover in the middle of the map. Fights here are less of a death sentence now, but it’s still the most contested ground on the arena.
- OSPUZE Casino: The rooftop was redesigned to break up sightlines and reduce long-range poking, and a new bar and VIP lounge on the upper floor added a power position with a route to the roof. If you like holding the high ground, learn this building.
- ALFA ACTA Casino: New roof structures add cover, an emergency staircase from the back alley gets you to the roof faster, and the backstage area was expanded with fresh pillars. Easier to attack from, easier to defend from — depends who gets there first.
Cashout play on Sandstorm
Stations and vaults still spawn across the casino core, so the fundamentals from the Las Vegas Stadium guide hold — but with visibility down, defending is about holding approaches, not sightlines.
- Carry the box through interiors where possible. The casino floors connect enough that you can bank without ever crossing the storm.
- When you’re the defender, don’t overextend into the sand to chase. On this variant, the team that holds the building wins far more often than the team that hunts.
Build fit
- Light: Sandstorm is ambush paradise. Cloaking Device or the new Infiltrator kit — Mimic Device especially — turns low visibility into free kills.
- Medium: Healing Beam and Defibrillator keep close-range brawls winnable, and Sonar Grenade is quietly elite here when you can’t see what you’re shooting at.
- Heavy: Goo Grenades, Barricades and Dome Shield let you lock down casino interiors without needing to see the whole room. Charge N Slam into a sand-blinded push is filthy.
Gradual destruction hits Vegas hard too — buildings sag and partially collapse, and Blast Waves from RPGs, C4 and canisters push debris into new cover. A sandstorm plus a collapsing casino is exactly the chaos Season 12 is built for. For the full picture, read the season changes, and check Ranked Cashout if you’re taking this map into ranked.
