THE FINALS Monaco map guide: cathedral and penthouse callouts, flanking routes, cashout spots, and the best classes for Season 12's remastered arena.

THE FINALS Monaco Map Guide (Season 12)

Monaco is the vertical map. Lots of tight streets, rooftops, and multi-level buildings — and Season 12 remastered it with reworked interiors, new cover, and fresh flanking routes. If you hate getting shot from above, learn the sightlines.

Key areas

  • Cathedral: The big landmark with verticality. Control the bell tower and you watch most of the mid. Expect fights on the stairs — bring a Medium with a turret or a Light with Cloak.
  • Penthouse: A high-value spot with good sightlines over the plaza. Great for a defensive Heavy holding the cashout below, but easy to flank through the adjacent rooms, so watch your back.
  • Flanking routes: The remaster added new side paths between the main streets. Use them to avoid the obvious zipline fights. A Light with Gateway can appear where the enemy least expects.

Cashout spots

The central plaza station gets contested hard. If you open the vault there, don’t bank it immediately — push it to a quieter station and let the other two teams bleed each other out. The penthouse and cathedral-adjacent stations are slower but safer.

Rotations

Height is king. Zipline up, then drop on teams fighting the cashout. Heavy’s Goo Gun makes ramps to roofs the enemy didn’t plan for. Read the destruction guide — Monaco’s thin floors mean a well-placed C4 drops a whole squad.

Vaults spawn at fixed points but the remaster moved a couple, so scout early rather than rushing the old spots. On defense, Dematerializer can open a ceiling drop straight onto a contested station — pure Monaco play.

Best classes

Light for flanks and intel, Medium for holding the plaza, Heavy for anchoring the penthouse. Match your pick to your team’s plan, not the map alone. The classes guide helps you decide. For ranked play on Monaco, the Ranked Cashout guide covers the mindset. Compare with Seoul and Skyway Stadium.

General advice: don’t get pinned on the ground floor. Monaco rewards the team that controls vertical space, so whoever owns the rooftops and balconies usually wins the cashout below. If you’re attacking a team dug into the penthouse, go around through the new flanking routes instead of pushing the front door — the remaster specifically added those paths to punish naive pushes.
