THE FINALS ARN-220 Guide (Season 12)

The ARN-220 is the Light’s answer to a question that shouldn’t need answering: what if I want to shoot like a Medium but move like a Light? It’s a full-auto assault rifle on the smallest, fastest body, and it rewards exactly what you’d expect — mid-range positioning, clean tracking, and the discipline to disengage when a Heavy anchors the lane.

What it is

A Light-build assault rifle. Compared to the SMG end of the Light arsenal it trades fire rate for per-shot damage and range. In practice that means you win trades you have no business winning as a Light — as long as the fight happens at your range.

Engagement range

  • Sweet spot: 15 to 35 meters. It’s a lane-holding gun on a flanking body.
  • Burst at distance. Past 30 meters, tap-fire; the recoil climb is manageable but not free.
  • Inside 10 meters is a coin flip against XP-54s and shotguns. Your speed can save you — strafe, dash, break line of sight — but you shouldn’t volunteer for it.

Attachment ideas

  • Recoil control first. This gun’s whole identity is landing consecutive shots at mid range.
  • A 2x-ish optic if you’re holding angles from rooftops — the ARN-220 loves elevation.
  • Magazine size or reload speed both do work, depending on how often you’re forced into multi-target fights.

Pros and cons

Why it’s a hidden gem:

  • Light mobility with rifle damage — the best of both worlds when you take the right fights
  • Excellent at punishing overextended enemies from mid range
  • Very few players expect a Light to out-shoot them at 30 meters

Where it struggles:

  • Slower time-to-kill than SMGs up close, and it shows
  • You’re still a Light — one lapse in positioning and you evaporate
  • Demands better aim than the XP-54 to get the same value

Who should run it

Patient, aim-focused Lights. If you enjoy the LH1’s pacing but want a full-auto option, or you come to THE FINALS from other shooters with solid rifle fundamentals, the ARN-220 will feel like home. It pairs well with Evasive Dash for repositioning and Cloaking Device for ambushing lanes.
