THE FINALS FAMAS Guide (Season 12)

The FAMAS is the Medium’s burst rifle, and it has one job: punish players who can’t control their trigger. In a class full of full-auto options — the AKM, the FCAR — the FAMAS asks for something different. Every trigger pull sends a burst, and the gap between bursts is where your damage lives.

What it is

A burst-firing Medium assault rifle. The concept is simple: short, tight bursts at mid range, reset, repeat. Spray it and you’ll lose to an AKM that simply has more bullets in the air. Burst it properly and you’ll out-damage everything in its range band.

Engagement range

• Sweet spot: 15 to 35 meters, the same mid-range band as the rest of the Medium rifles — but the FAMAS wants the longer end of it.
• The reset is the weapon. Let the recoil settle between bursts and your shots group beautifully.
• Close range is a grind. You’re trading burst cadence against SMGs and shotguns; winnable with a pre-aim, punishing without one.

Attachment ideas

• Recoil control, always. The burst pattern is already tight — keep it that way.
• A mid-range optic if you play the 25–35 meter band; the FAMAS shines there.
• Reload speed helps a lot, because your real downtime is the burst reset, not the magazine.

Pros and cons

Why it’s a cult classic:

• Burst damage at mid range is genuinely nasty when timed right
• Ammo-efficient — you’re not dumping rounds into walls
• Rewards practice in a way most THE FINALS weapons don’t

Where it falls short:

• Brutal if you panic-spam; the trigger discipline is non-negotiable
• Loses suppressive fights to the AKM’s magazine
• Less forgiving than the FCAR for tracking-focused players

Who should run it

Disciplined Mediums who enjoy the mechanics of a weapon. If you like learning recoil patterns and get satisfaction from clean burst resets, the FAMAS is one of the most rewarding guns in the game. It fits a support-minded kit — hold the mid-range angle, let your Light flank, and punish anyone who pushes into your lane.
