THE FINALS M134 Minigun guide: the Heavy rotary gun's spin-up play, engagement range, pros and cons, and how to set up before you fire.

THE FINALS M134 Minigun Guide (Season 12)

The M134 Minigun is the most theatrical weapon in THE FINALS and one of the most effective — if you set it up. It’s a Heavy rotary cannon that spins up before it fires, and that spin-up is the entire weapon. Learn to plan around it and the M134 deletes teams. Ignore it and you’ll die holding a whirring brick.

What it is

A Heavy-build rotary minigun. Think of it as a deployable that you carry: slow, loud, and absolutely devastating once it’s running. As of Season 12 it rates as one of the strongest Heavy weapons in community rankings — when it’s already firing.

Engagement range

  • Sweet spot: 15 to 35 meters — mid-range corridors and Cashout approach lanes.
  • The spin-up is your tell. Everyone can hear it coming. Get set before you need it, not after the fight starts.
  • Close quarters is where the M134 struggles most — a Light inside your spin-up time is a Light who kills you.

Attachment ideas

  • Handling and spin-up efficiency are everything; anything that shortens the gap between “I need to shoot” and “I am shooting” is a win.
  • Skip gimmick attachments — the M134 is a straightforward weapon, and pretending otherwise wastes its identity.
  • Tune your sensitivity; tracking a spinning barrel across a target is its own skill.

Pros and cons

Why it’s terrifying:

  • Once it’s running, nothing holds the lane — the damage output is absurd
  • Huge magazine; you can hold a Cashout room through multiple pushes
  • Psychological warfare: the spin-up sound alone breaks pushes

Where it hurts:

  • You’re anchored and audible; snipers and flankers love you
  • The startup cost is real — it’s a positioning weapon, not a reaction weapon
  • Ranked punishes over-reliance; good teams will simply avoid your lane

Who should run it

Patient, setup-minded Heavies. The M134 wants a plan: which lane, which angle, which escape when it goes wrong. Pair it with Mesh Shield or Barricade for the hold, and make sure your team knows you’re the anchor, not the flanker. If you want the Heavy aggression fantasy without the setup tax, the SA1216 is the alternative.

The Heavy build guide has the full context, and ranked play rewards the discipline this weapon demands.
