THE FINALS SR-84 Guide (Season 12)

THE FINALS SR-84 guide: the Light sniper's engagement ranges, attachment ideas, pros and cons, and how to play it without feeding the enemy team.

THE FINALS SR-84 Guide (Season 12)

The SR-84 is the Light sniper — a bolt-action rifle on the fastest body in the game, which is either the most fun you’ll have in THE FINALS or the fastest way to feed the other team cash. There’s no middle ground. It rewards patience, map knowledge, and the humility to relocate after every shot.

What it is

A Light-build bolt-action sniper. It’s not the marksman-style LH1 — that one is for repeated mid-to-long range shots, while the SR-84 is one big shot, then you move. Lights melt to a clean hit; Mediums and Heavies need headshots or follow-up.

Engagement range

  • Sweet spot: 30 meters and beyond. Long lanes, rooftops, scaffolding — anywhere you can see the Cashout from.
  • Always have an exit. After you fire, you’re the most visible player on the map. Plan your next position before you take the shot.
  • Do not take close fights. If a Light reaches you with an SMG, you’ve already made a mistake. Your Grappling Hook exists for exactly this reason.

Attachment ideas

  • Optics matter less than you think — you’re scoped for the shot anyway — but anything that steadies the scope helps.
  • Reload speed is your DPS. The SR-84 is only as fast as its bolt cycles and its magazine refills.
  • Skip anything that doesn’t serve the shot-reposition loop.

Pros and cons

Why it’s special:

  • Eliminates Lights in one clean hit, which swings fights before they start
  • Light mobility means you can take angles other snipers can’t reach
  • Incredible for covering a Cashout push from across the map

Where it hurts:

  • Brutal against you if you get flanked — and you will
  • Punishing if you miss; the follow-up window is long
  • Needs real map knowledge; expect to spend your first hours learning sightlines

Who should run it

Confident, patient players who already know the maps. The SR-84 pairs with the Grappling Hook (take the perch, escape when pushed) and Cloaking Device (reposition unseen). If you like the idea but want a gentler learning curve, start with the LH1 and graduate.

The Light build guide has the full loadout context, and the movement tech guide covers the hook cancels that make sniping on a Light work.
